If you're picking up a pistol or a semiautomatic military-style rifle, Minnesota also requires a valid permit to purchase or permit to carry. For ordinary rifles and shotguns, no permit is needed — just a passed background check. For pistols and semiautomatic military-style rifles bought from a dealer, Minnesota requires either a permit to purchase or a permit to carry. The permit to purchase is free from your local police chief or county sheriff, is typically issued within about a week, and is good for one year.

Yes. We keep around 150 firearms on hand and work with more than 50 wholesalers, so if we don't have it, odds are good we can get it. Special orders usually arrive in two to three shipping days.

It's easier than most folks expect. Suppressors are NFA items, so they still need an approved ATF Form 4 and a background check — but for applications filed on or after January 1, 2026, the old $200 federal tax is $0. Our Silencer Shop kiosk handles your fingerprints and photos right here in the store: pick your suppressor, spend a few minutes at the kiosk, and we'll walk you through the rest.

That's up to the ATF, and approval times change. Electronic Form 4 filings have been coming back far faster than the old paper waits — often days or weeks instead of many months — though the ATF makes no promises. We'll help you keep track and let you know the moment yours clears.

Yes, we accept suppressor transfers from outside FFL/SOT dealers for a $100 transfer fee plus a $25 Silencer Shop form charge. If you'd rather skip those fees next time, buying through our in-store Silencer Shop kiosk keeps the whole process under one roof.

Cerakote H-Series is a thin, tough ceramic coating available in more than 100 colors. We fully degrease and bead-blast your parts, spray the coating, and oven-cure it so the finish is bonded on, not just painted on. It's a durable way to bring a worn firearm back to life or make a new one truly yours.

It depends on the project and what's already in our queue — a single-color job moves faster than multi-color or stencil work. Call or stop in and we'll give you an honest turnaround estimate before we take your firearm in. We'd rather quote you straight than promise a date we can't keep.

Our Tattoo Your Gun service uses two lasers. The fiber laser handles metals — slides, receivers, dog tags, tumblers — and the CO2 laser covers wood signs, leather, hats, and bags. Bring us your idea or artwork and we'll tell you what will look best on the material.

Absolutely. We regularly make department awards, retirement plaques, and challenge-coin displays, and we can work from your logo or artwork. For larger orders, call or email early so we can build in enough time to do the job right.

Yes — send us your artwork and we'll laser it onto metal items like tumblers and dog tags with the fiber laser, or onto wood, leather, and hats with the CO2 laser. If all you have is a rough idea, we're happy to help you work it into something laser-ready.

Yes. Ship it to us by UPS or FedEx with Adult Signature required for Cerakote, engraving, or gunsmithing work. Yes, we ship lasered gift and award orders nationwide. Firearms are a different story and have to go through proper FFL channels, but tumblers, plaques, signs, and patches can head straight to your door wherever you are.

Yes. We run Blue Label duty-purchase programs for law enforcement — just bring your department ID. As a service-disabled-veteran-owned shop, we're proud to serve those who serve, including fire departments, EMS, and military, so ask us what your role qualifies you for.

In many cases, yes. Under federal regulation 27 CFR 478.134, a certified letter from your department allows an officer to take immediate delivery of a duty firearm without completing Form 4473. Have your department get in touch and we'll explain exactly what the letter needs to say.
