Waterville sits on the strip of land between Lake Tetonka and Lake Sakatah in the southeast corner of Le Sueur County — the same county we call home. Younger Gunworks is in Le Center, the county seat, about 19 miles northwest of you: Highway 13 out of town, then west on Highway 99, roughly 25 minutes of two-lane through farm country. We're on the north side of 99, straight across from the county fairgrounds.
A town that calls itself the Bullhead Capital of the World doesn't need a lecture on time spent outdoors. Between walleyes on Tetonka, ducks working the sloughs, deer season in the hardwoods, and the Sakatah trail running right through town, Waterville folks put honest wear on their firearms — and that's exactly the work we're set up for. The shop is veteran and woman owned: founder Mike Wolbrink is an 82nd Airborne combat veteran, and he runs the counter with co-owner Jody Younger the way a small-town shop should — straight answers, fair prices, no pressure.
For Waterville customers
Services worth the drive
About 150 firearms hang on the wall on any given day, and with more than 50 wholesalers behind us, a special order usually lands in two or three shipping days. Here's what brings Waterville customers up Highway 13:
- FFL transfers — bought a gun online or won an auction? Have it shipped to us and we'll handle the paperwork for a flat $30.
- Suppressors — our Silencer Shop kiosk walks you through the ATF process and we do fingerprinting right in the store, so one trip covers it.
- Ultrasonic gun cleaning — a season of duck boats and wet blinds is hard on a shotgun; we deep-clean it, run a function check, and can test fire it before you pick it up.
- Scopes and optics — we sell, mount, and bore-sight, so your rifle is ready before opening weekend, not after.
- Cerakote custom coating — our "Color My Gun" service applies durable H-Series finishes, whether you want mud-proof practicality or something one of a kind.
- Laser engraving — fiber and CO2 lasers can "Tattoo Your Gun" or personalize just about anything else you bring in.
- Gunsmithing and trigger work — repairs, cleanings, and trigger jobs on the common makes and models most of us actually shoot.
- Lasered awards and gifts — plaques, tumblers, signs, leather patches, and memorial keepsakes, including department awards and retirement plaques for law enforcement, fire, and EMS crews.
